Finally, we can all move on from the cult of personality to doing the hard work of building a better nation.

I would only add that Obama’s win approaches Clinton’s decisive 1992 victory and reverses a series of close races in which I seem to recall Republicans declaring “mandates”. We can only hope that the conjuncture of crisis and reawakened political consciousness will lead to a restoration of responsible government for the people.
